At the 107th National Convention, this year’s scholarship recipients were honored at the Alpha Chi Rho Educational Foundation’s Scholarship Luncheon, and Phi Phi’s Justin Burdge was announced as one of the recipients.
According to the Alpha Chi Rho Educational Foundation, Justin was awarded the Wilbur M. “Curly” Walden Graduate Scholarship due to his research in “improving the methods we use to study the neurobiology of pain by inventing new techniques that will improve therapeutic development.” He hopes to use his research to address shortcomings in the medical treatment of individuals suffering from chronic pain.
With this scholarship, Justin will be able to dedicate his time and attention primarily to his research and to writing his thesis.
In addition to research, Justin likes to swim, play board games, and walk around New York City with his partner Abby and his dog Loki.
